StartupStar 2.5s

There some things you are going to like about the Abelssoft-developed application StartupStar. And there are a few things you are not going to like. Let’s take a look at all these things, in a logical progression.

To start using the StartupStar application, you must first download it off the web and onto your computer. Since the download weighs in at some 1.5MB, you will like that the download completes in no time at all. Even on a less than spectacular connection, it can’t take long to download 1.5MB.
After the download completes, it is time to install StartupStar.

You will like that the installation process is incredibly straightforward; it completes without a problem and goes along smoothly. You will also like that StartupStar provides support for several Windows versions. It provides support for the old but popular Windows XP, for the much avoided Windows Vista, and for the latest and greatest, Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit editions).

Once StartupStar is up and ready to run, you will like the functionality it has to provide. Here is what you can expect to get from this Abelssoft-developed application:
- View a detailed list of applications that automatically run at startup
- Manage the applications that automatically run at startup. You can remove programs that launch at startup, you can add programs to launch at startup.
- Some applications will add themselves to the startup list later on, even after you removed them from the list. With StartupStar you can block these applications from adding themselves to the list.

There are some things you will not like about StartupStar. The first time you launch StartupStar, you will not exactly be overjoyed with the way the application’s interface looks. We’ve reviewed several other Abelssoft applications so far (see here and here) and they looked a lot better.

You will not like the fact that StartupStar is free to try. This is to say the application can be used free of charge only for a trial period of 30 days. There are other similarly efficient applications that do not ask for money. You are also not going to like that when you shut down the trial version of StartupStar, it will play an audio notification – which can be annoying.
