The main thing you can do with Abelssoft’s StartupStar is manage startup entries. The application shows you what applications automatically run at startup, lets you disable applications from running at startup, and lets you add applications to the list of startup entries.

Abelssoft’s StartupStar comes with a Startup Firewall feature. This Startup Firewall runs in the background and warns you when new items are added to the list of startup entries. So if you install a new application and it sets itself to automatically run at startup, the Startup Firewall will warn you about it.

If you made an unwatned change, you can undo it from StartupStar’s Backup Center. If something is not working like it should, you can fix things from StartupStar’s Backup Center. That’s because The Backup Center can undo changes made since last program start or made since a certain date.

From the Settings & Support section you can access multiple options: change the language used for the interface, disable the option to automatically check for updates at application start, enable an option to delete backup entries that are older than 30 days, and more.

StartupStar is free to use for a trial period of 30 days. You have 30 days to get accustomed to the interface, figure out everything that StartupStar can do, and decide if what StartupStar can do is worth parting with your money to buy a license.

See what applications run at startup, remove and add entries to list of startup programs, get notifications when an application is added to the startup list. All these bits of functionality are offered by Abelssoft’s StartupStar.

Pros

Supports 32- and 64-bit Windows editions, all editions from XP onward. Multiple languages are available for the interface. Said interface is very easy to navigate. Use StartupStar to view and manage applications that run at startup. The Startup Firewall monitors the startup list and warns you when new programs are added to the list. Undo unwanted changes from the Backup Center.

Cons

Trial limitations: 30-day trial, nag screen.
